Hmmm, in powerpoint, if i go to file – email as attachment, the resulting email attachment loses the file extension. This, of course, makes it hard for the receipient to open and view the file. Has anyone seen this, and do you know how to fix it?

I have SP3 and it seems to work just fine (File>Send to>Mail Recipient (as attachment)).

Do you let Windows hide your file extensions in Windows Explorer? For example, no .DOC on Word file names? If so, I suggest forcing Windows to display them and see if that helps. This is set in Windows Explorer, Tools>Folder Options…>View tab, uncheck “Hide extensions for known file types.”

Other than that… not sure why PPT and/or Outlook would hide the extension.
