We have all probably read about the unusual food combinations that were favourites of Elvis, like deep fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches…but… I am sure we all have our own delicacies that we might not like to confess to liking. In England, a real bizzare combo is Ice Cream with Jelly; that’s Jello to those in the US/Canada

So to start off – forgive me Loungers, I have sinned and I confess that I love cold spaghetti bolognaise sandwiches on white bread with lots of real butter.

Hetty, I could go for that myself but I’d have to have it at least slightly warm.

      My delicacy:
UK Chips dipped in thick milk shake
USA French Fries dipped in thick shake

My appetite for this went into steep decline, the more I learned about leading fast food ‘restaurants’…

      burga whisper spook puke

This delicacy works almost as well though with oven chips and ice cream.

Is that before or after the deep fried pizza washed down with an Irn Bru!

        • #637628

After, naturally (though occasionally at the same time!). And don’t forget the fish supper while waiting for the pizza to be ready….

I’ve been known to put almost ANYTHING in a Tortilla shell (large, soft, flour-based shell, often used for Burritos).

Options include (but are not limited to): Cheese (always), beef, chicken, vegetables, rice… and any left-over food that I’m tired of eating plain.
Put the cold food on the shell, fold over once.
Place in the microwave for 1 minute on high.
Next, place in a toaster-oven or oven on high for 3-5 minutes (until slightly brown)
Remove, cover with Sour-Cream and/or Ketchup (or Catsup, depending on where you’re from)

      mmmmmmmmm…. yummy yum

      Definitely bachelor’s food!

(Pardon me while I channel my Californian nephew)

Doood! Would you be willing to share the garlic chocolate cookie recipe.

One of the odd things that my sister discovered when she was pregnant was toast with butter, then peanut butter, then a sprinkling of sweetened shaved coconut. Mmmmm.
