I’m on Win 10 22H2 with a local account and I use Microsoft Edge.

I have read that in Win 11, if you want to use Edge, you have to have a Microsoft account.

    Is this true ?

      No.

Unless you want Edge settings etc. to be available on your other devices:

When you’re signed in, Microsoft Edge syncs your favorites, passwords, history, extensions, settings, open tabs, autofill form entries (such as your name, address, and phone number), payment info, and other data types across the devices you use with this account.

Sign in to sync Microsoft Edge across devices

P.S. Using Edge’s built-in VPN Secure Network also requires signing in to Edge with a Microsoft Account.
