I tend to leave my email inboxes pretty messy, and every so often I’ll go on a massive clean-up campaign.  For the most part I sort by subject or sender so I can delete messages in logical blocks.  After several shift-clicks to select a block of messages, Windows puts up a message asking if I want to activate sticky keys.  I politely say no, and thereafter every 4 to 7 shift-clicks it asks me again.  At this point I’m starting to swear at the OS, as if that does any good!  Is there a way to tell it “no, and don’t ask me again!”?

Disable the Irritating Sticky / Filter Keys Popup Dialogs

Gamers often have to disable them, too.

Thanks.  The look of the screen has changed since the article was written, but the box to uncheck is still there.  We’ll see if that does the trick!

Never thought of that one before since the label doesn’t appear to have anything to do with the actual issue.

Back to report that this seems to have fixed the issue.  I say “seems” simply because we all know that the absence of symptoms doesn’t mean there’s an absence of a problem (in other words, it’s impossible to prove negative existence just from a lack of evidence).  I haven’t had the problem since making the change.
