    Good afternoon

Does MS Project always display the duration according to the base calendar?

A calendar is modified for a resource to show a 10hr working day and named labourers.
A resource, labourer, is assigned the calendar labourers.
A task is created with 10 hrs work and assigned 100% of a labourer.
    Work is fixed

    Result
The duration is reported as 1.25 days
The Gantt spans 1 day. (Modifying the time line display to display days and hrs verifies this.)

So is the duration calculation always based on the base calendar?
What must I do to show a duration of 1 day?

    Thank you in anticipation.
    Regards
    Geof

Yes the project is scheduled around the project base calendar. If you want 10 hours to be a day to be Global you can make a named base calendar with 10 hour working days and assign it as the base calendar for the project and also go to Tools ==> Options ==> Calendar tab and make hours in a day 10. What is set in the Options dialog box needs to be synchronized with the Project base calendar.

If you only want this for the single resource you could make the task Fixed Duration and assign the resource and it will become a 1 day duration task with 10 hours work.
