I have a Dell Dimension 5150 that I want to order additional RAM memory for. It will handle up to 8 GB of memory. My question is whether it is a dual channel or a regular memory stick that I should get. Would dual channel memory work in a system that does not have dual channel slots? Newegg has Crucial 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model CT2KIT12864AA667 – Retail for $20.99 with free shipping. What do you think?

Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

Did you check at Memory upgrades, flash media, and usb storage at Crucial.com? That’ll show you the memory that will work in your system.

Why don’t you go to the Crucial site and let them tell you what to buy. I also have a Dell 5150 and here’s what Crucial says:
This may be the same link: Memory upgrades at Crucial.com (blush – it is! Sorry Joe!)

I did go to Crucial and have determined that the memory from Newegg will work. Interesting that I can get the Crucial memory from Newegg for $7 less than directly from Crucial – and it is free shipping. Thanks to all for their help.
