    Dropping Characters when Printing?

    A2k (9.0.4402) SR-1

I developed a report using Line Printer font size 8 and it works fine on Okidata 830 Laser.

This is a Landscape orientation, Width 10 inch., with margins Top .5, Bottom .5, Left .5, Right .25

I delivered it to customer that prints on Epson 800 and 850 Ink Jets and it dropping the right most character of each field:

    Example
    Okidata Epson
    2001-00018 prints as 2001-0018
    02/23/98 prints as 02/23/9
    716-754-1234 prints as 716-754-12

Is there an adjustment on the Epson that can be made so I don

Have you tried increasing the width of your text boxes to see if it will then print all the characters?

        Hi Mark

The data is there if the control is sized wider, Charlottes response with true type & wiggle room is probably my answer.

        Thanks

Line Printer font? Don’t recognize it, unless it’s a holdover from the old dot matrix line printers that Oki used to make. It certainly doesn’t exist on my machine.

One thing I do is always use a truetype font. If you use a printer specific font or a custom font that may not be on the target machine, you build in problems for yourself. TrueType fonts will at least find the closest printer font match, if nothing else.

I also always make sure my fields have some wiggle room in them so they should work on almost any kind of printer.

        Hi Charlotte

Line Printer was in my Access combo box, it looks like Courier

In any case, it’s probably a fixed width font. Try using a scaleable font like Arial instead.
