dropdown field not working (97 NL)

Hello All,

I have a mainform with a dropdow filed. The data for the filed is comming from a table that is not linked to other tables. The field is used to select the filter that is used when opening an other form by pressing a button.

When opening the database the mainform is shown, but I’m not able to select a filtername in the dropdown field (All items are shown, but not clickable)
When I switch the mainform to editmode and than back again to formmode the field is working correctly

So what is going on here?

Some questions:

1. Is the form set as startup form in Tools | Startup…?
2. If not, how is it opened?
3. Is the combo box locked?
4. Does the main form have its Allow Edits property set to Yes?
5. Do you have code that changes the Locked property of the combo box or the AllowEdits property of the main form?

Some answers…

No, the form is started form an autoexec macro… but while typing this I checked the macro and it had the property OpenForm set to Read-Only
