This ladies and gentlmen, is my Specialty! I’ve listed it as ‘Infamous’, quite the contrary, I get repeated requests for this lasagna at company potlucks, and the lack of vegetables makes it perfect for the kids!

You can add pretty much whatever you’d like, Olives, Onions, Etc! I’ve also done vegetarian style, so if you need a recipe for that, please let me know!

    You will need:

1 medium package Monterey Jack Cheese
    1 medium container Cottage Cheese
    1 box Lasagna Noodles
    1lb Ground Turkey Meat
    Salt
    Pepper
Garlic Powder (Minced Fresh Garlic works better!)
    1 jar/can preferred spaghetti sauce (I used Ragu Meat-Flavored)

    To make the Lasagna:

Start a large pot of water to boil. add 3 teaspoons salt.
    Boil Lasagna Noodles until soft
Brown Turkey Meat, season with salt, pepper, and Garlic to taste, adding a little extra of everything. (This provides much of
the flavor for the lasagna, but shouldn’t be overpowering)
While browning Turkey Meat, Grade all of the Monterey Jack Cheese.
Take 4/5ths of the graded cheese and place in a large bowl.
Add the Cottage Cheese to the 4/5ths graded cheese, mix well.
    Preheat oven to 375
Drain Ground Turkey and set aside.
    Drain Lasagna Noodles

    Building your lasagna:

Always keep a visual of your ingredients. Chances are, your meat will the the first to run-out, so use this sparingly so it lasts throughout the Lasagna.

In a 9×13 pan, start by pouring a small amount of the spaghetti sauce in the bottom and spreading evenly. The sauce
should cover the bottom of the pan thinly. Top the sauce layer with lasagna noodles, laying them side by side (each layer
    requires 3 noodles).

Use the following steps to stack your ingredients into Lasagna!

Top the noodle layer with spaghetti sauce, coating the noodles thinly and evenly. Evenly sprinkle turkey on top of the sauce
layer. Evenly sprinkle cottage cheese mixture over turkey. (if you’re cooking for yourself, you can use your hands here as
the mixture is somewhat sticky) the cheese mixture will be ‘clumpy’ but it all melts together in the end, so it doesn’t have
to be perfectly spread. Top the cheese layer with more noodles.

Somewhere in the middle, season lightly with salt, pepper, and garlic.

For the last layer, generously cover the noodles with spaghetti sauce. (this prevents the noodles on the top from drying out
while baking.) Sprinkle the remainder of your cheese mixture over the top of the sauce. Take the remaining 1/5th of your
cheese and sprinkle over the top of your lasagna.

Bake the lasagna for 35-45 minutes, or until bubbly in the center. the cheese on top will lightly brown at the edges when
    done.

To top it off, here’s a simple process for Garlic Bread:

    You will need:

    1 loaf fresh french bread
    Butter or Margarine
    Garlic Powder

Slice french bread to desired width. Spread with butter. Arrange slices on flat baking sheet and sprinkle with garlic powder.

Note: if you don’t have garlic powder, you can mix butter and fresh minced garlic (1 part garlic to 6 parts butter) in a small container and spread this ‘Garlic Butter’ over
    the bread.

Broil Garlic bread until brown on the edges.

Finally, go get yourself a nice bottle of wine, and Enjoy!

You don’t even need to preboil the Lasagna. Just layer it in straight out of the box. It cooks just fine in the sauces. grin

        hmmn

I might increase the cooking time a bit using this method.. wink

I’ll be cooking it again tonight, and am DEFINITELY looking forward to it. yum

Yeah, turn the oven down to 350 and do it an hour.

Whats an oven? Isn’t that the space under the burners where I store all those pots and pans my Mom gave me that I never use?

            • #616092

AFAIK, a dishwasher and an oven are auxiliary storage space!

This new Cooking Board is fantastic and I think I can do the Lasagna
if I got drunk enough to attempt it. My steady girl is now gone so I have
to cook again. My idea of dessert is a cold beer and a cigarette so I
have a lot to learn. Eileen is obviously unstoppable. She keeps
coming up with newer and better ideas all the time. I definitely need
      a girlfriend like her!

Well, being drunk while attempting this one might not be such a great idea, but it’s a free country, so laying the drink on during preparation is purely optional, just don’t try to boil the ground turkey and fry the noodles… sick

Can I at least get some assurance that the chef was wearing pants while the lasagna was prepared and cooked?

          • #616271

Well, in reviewing the legalities, it’s possible that in creating the lasagna, the chef may or may not have been wearing pants, may or may not have read the manual for his oven, (which is definitely heavy machinery) may or may not have harmed a turkey, and may or many not be cooking with a pet fish in close proximity….

Your guess is as good as mine, but my lawyer has forbidden me from giving any ‘assurance’ of any kind. shrug

Well if he wasn’t wearing pants, I hope he was wearing trousers! evilgrin
