I am trying to use this scanner on a Windows 11 laptop now after using on Windows 10. Epson does not seem to have any Drivers for this model beyond Windows 10. Online suggested Microsoft would install its generic drivers when I plugged the machine in. That did not go well either – just said NO DRIVERS AVAILABLE. I see some advertisements appear that say they provide drivers for this but am reluctant to deal with unknown vendors. Does anyone have any suggestions for finding safe and reliable drivers  so that I can use my Scanner in Windows 11?

Epson does not seem to have any Drivers for this model beyond Windows 10.

are you really sure about that?

this Epson support page link suggests otherwise (covers Win11 also). expand all the sections and look at the all the downloads there.

or contact Epson tech support and ask if your Perfection V600 Photo scanner will work correctly with Windows 11 with the provided drivers on the Epson support site

Many thanks for taking the time to research this. I followed your link to the Epson site on both computers. The Win 11 laptop is 1 TB HD, AMD Ryzen 7700, Acer 3 16GB RAM. On Win 10, it opened up and offered several downloads for whichever year you choose. On the Win 11 machine, the site did not offer anything. So, I called Epson and was greeted by Shaquielle O’Neal apologizing for the wait and calling for the guys in the back room to get on it. Great Marketing!!! First rep tried to help but ultimately decided to just send me a link to the files I need. So far so good. I then went through the download and install process only to get to the end and have Microsoft REJECT the download instructing me to contact the vendor. I called Epson again and the rep walked me through disabling security features such as Firewall and Anti Virus software. None of these suggestions worked. I am wise enough to not even think about contacting Microsoft; they have NEVER resolved any issue I ever contacted them about. If anyone has any possible solutions to this, I would really appreciate your assistance.

Well, all the drivers seem to be there (on the page that EP suggested) for all OSes – including W11 – as far as I can see.

Do you use a content blocker for your web browser? If so, make an exception for the “epson dot com” domain.

Simply download the driver you need to, say, your Desktop; close all apps and documents that are open; right click on the driver file and select Run as Administrator.

      You might try this:

If the driver won’t install by running the downloaded *.exe file, use 7-Zip (freeware) or similar to extract the file to a folder of your choice. Then, in Device Manager, find the listing for the scanner, which will probably show a yellow triangle for no driver installed. You should have an option to update the driver, and when the updater prompts for files, point to the folder with your extracted files. If it wants a specific file, look for the *.inf file.

I’m not sure this will work in Win11 but it’s worth a try. If it does work, that should take care of the driver but it probably won’t install the Epson Scan utility. In that case try running setup.exe from your extracted files once the driver is in place.

I can’t give you 100 percent specific procedures because I’m on Linux, but this should be close.

      Good luck!

I’ve experienced the same problem with trying to use my Epson V550 with Windows 11.

I finally resolved things such I can use the V550 successfully with Windows 11 Pro.

First, I installed VueScan from Hamrick Software. (https://www.hamrick.com/) A very good software with many options. This is my primary scanning program.

Second, I still wanted Epson software. So I kept checking / looking / hoping and finally found a suggestion on a forum (don’t remember the details) that I could install the Windows 10 Epson software. I tried it and it mostly works, but some of the graphics are missing on some dialogue boxes. But, the scanning operations do work.

Had the same frustration with by Epson V550 when I switched to Win 11.

This site provided a reasonable solution:

      Hope it works for you.
