    Win 98 Se

I have successfully added a second hard drive but it has taken the drive letter “D” which I would rather remain as my CD Drive as programs are already set to use that letter. Is there anyway to select which letter my additional drive will use?

    TIA

      Try this from annoyances.org:

        Edit

That site did not quite do what I needed but it did lead me to a nice little programme that did smile
        Assign Drive Letter

        Thanks again,

There is a lesson here – for your next PC.

Reserve a few drive letters for extra disks or partitions when you first install a PC by moving the drive letter for the CD drive before you install any software. I always put my CD and DVD drives starting at Z: and working downwards.
