I tried posting this on the Google Groups board, but got zero response, so I thought I’d try the wizards here.

I subscribe to a couple of Google groups, and have all posts emailed to me. Last week I didn’t get anything and thought I must have been bumped from the lists, so I contacted the list admins but was told I had not been. When I tried to sign in to the Groups I was told my username and password were incorrect. On further investigation I was able to determine that my account had been deleted. I recreated it, with the same username and email address, and bingo! I started getting my email again. When I signed into the groups with IE I discovered that I had missed a lot of emails. I was able to browse through it with IE, of course, but what I’d really like to do is download it into Outlook, so that I have all the groups’ messages. I can’t see any way to do this. Does anyone here know how to download mail from a Google group?

Google Groups as in Usenet news posts? I didn’t realize you could subscribe to them… However, I believe they are are not really emails so I don’t know how you could forward them to yourself. Outlook Express can read news posts from a news server, assuming the groups of interest are mirrored there. Perhaps if you have them in OE you could forward them to yourself? (An untested suggestion… been a long time since I used a news reader for anything.)

No, they’re not Usenet news posts. They’re very similar to Yahoo! groups, though with a slightly different MO. You post via email and get replies via email; all subscribers get all the emails. They also have a web address, enabling you to see posts with a browser. I’m trying to find out if it’s possible to have posts emailed to you after the fact. Of course, the Google people should be able to answer this question, but they haven’t/won’t.

Oh, I didn’t realize Google had expanded the “Groups” banner to include mailing lists as well. I was thinking of the original content inherited from DejaNews (e.g., http://groups.google.com/group/comp.databa…filemaker/about%5B/url%5D).

          hmmn hmmn hmmn

After reading your post, I checked my Google Mail (which is where I have the Group E-mails go to and not the aternate address frown), I found the same problem.

I had not checked the account in several days and did not notice the problem.

For G&G (AKA Grins and Giggles), I decided to send a question under the GMail Security Form. This probably is not the correct forum to get an answer, but based on your post, might get some form of answer.

If I hear anything, I will let you know.
