• Download files blocked (IE 6)

When anyone tries to download a file from various file sharing sites they get the following messages in an IE window

The file “blahblah.ext” has been blocked. The file is larger than the configured file size limit.

We have used these sites before without a problem and it is only starting recently. It doesn’t matter what type of file it is but the files are usually zip or rar files. We did have a problem with messagelabs right before it happened where all our outgoing e-mails were blocked. – that was fun

    Any ideas

    Regards

Can you identify the source of the message?

(The way I do it using FireFox is to right-click and use my ‘Open in IE’ add-in – this opens the pop-up in a fully-populated IE window including the address bar…)

It seems to be coming from whatever file site we are using. If it is Mediafire, then it gives a URL for MediaFire, same for Rapid Download etc.

Sorry, don’t know what else to suggest. Can you try with FF?

” file is larger than the configured file size limit.”

          How large are these files?

The file sizes are 50 to 75 mb. This has never been a problem in the past.

We have also tried using FireFox.

Seems like your router or firewall may have been changed to set a limit.

You stated that you had issues with “messagelabs” so you might check the settings there!
