Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

GuestApril 29, 2016 at 11:24 am #43646I think the answer to the question is….maybe.
I run a Dell desktop using Win 10 Pro. My son uses an HP laptop running Win 10 Home. I only activate IE when it comes to updating it. Then I put it back on the shelf where it can collect more dust. I found that it would crash when I use Malwarebytes Anti-exploit. When I disable Anti-exploit, IE would run fine. My son on the other hand can run IE with Anti-exploit with no problems. At the time we both were using AVG Free. It looks like IE will have it’s problems from one brand of PC maker to another, and from one AV product to another. You takes your chances. My son and I now run Windows Defender as our main AV software and we are running fine.
I hope MS will finally untangle IE from windows and bury it in what ever software landfill there is and be done with it. I never like it when there was just it and Netscape. -

GuestApril 29, 2016 at 3:26 pm #43647I use an HP laptop running Win 7 SP1 64 bit. I too only use IE11 when I absolutely have to. However, the few times I have fired it up it crashed with a blue screen with MS hard to understand messages. But I don’t use AVG Free. I use Avast Free. Could more than one free AV program not be compatible with IE11?
