When I open the Document Map it defaults to expand headings. Is there a way to default it to collapse? If not, is there a macro I can run to collapse all the expanded headings? I prefer to expand only the headings that I

You can right-click the document map and specify that you want to view Heading 1. You can still expand individual headings.

There doesn’t seem to be much support for the document map in VBA. You can turn it on and off, and set its width, and that’s it.

Thanks Hans. I didn’t realize you could right click inside the map to show only certain headings. That will work for me. Would be nice (for me anyway) to have a default option that a user can set when opening the map. And thanks for the extra comments. Cheers.

As far as I know, you can’t set defaults for Document Map.

Keep in mind that Document Map may change the outline level of paragraphs, and sometimes even the style.
