Have a new laptop “Framework”. I mention this because is comes with zero bloatware. When using after a minute or so the screen goes blank or to the login screen. This is the same issue I had on the old Dell so it obviously carried over. Did not think it was a virus just part of the list of issues. Ran Malwarebytes no issues found. Turned it off and ran Windows Defender both quick and deep scan with no issues found. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Did you run any programs to remove bloatware?  Some of these may inadvertently remove needed software.

      Have a new laptop “Framework”.

What exactly do you mean with the term “Framework”? Some clarification of this can help folks better help you.

New hardware and new OS, older OS upgraded to newer OS, older OS transferred to new hardware and then upgraded to new OS?

EDIT to add: Explained right below, I believe, with @DrBonzo ‘s link.

Check your power settings and see if you’re set to blank/lock the screen after a minute. If you’re running on battery, this might be the setting. You can change that. Also check your screen saver settings…you could have a blank lock screen set up.

When you say “using” do you mean it happens during (right in the middle) of keyboard of pointer activity?

Otherwise it’s likely the simple solutions johnf points out.

      Find the Power Settings at:
      Settings App\Power & Battery\Screen & sleep
      OR
Control Panel\Power Options\Choose what the Power button does
      OR
In the Taskbar Search Box type powercfg.exe and hit Enter

In the advanced power settings it was set for 1 minute.
