    Microsoft has a .dll help database for “selected” MS products. Because it’s selective, you’d best search by product although searches by file and product plus file are available. The database provides descriptive details about the listed .dll’s. No downloads, though. See http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?…llinfo.asp&fp=1%5B/url%5D

      I have found it best to search by file.
      For example, to learn which products ship with the VB 6 run times.
