Dleted Mail (2003)

When a user deletes an email, it does not go into the Deleted folder. Is there a setting in 2003 that she may have set that causes this to happen? I can recover the Deleted email with the recover deleted mail tool. We are on an Exchange Server.

Are you sure she is not holding down the shift key when deleting items? Is she running any third party spam tool that could permamnently delete items? Is she running a rule that could permanently delete items?

The answer to all three questions is no. I have watched what she is doing and she is merely clicking delete. Our policy is not to allow third party software. She knows nothing about making rules. After just speaking with her, I find that the problem does not happen all the time. Will probably run a D&R to see if this will correct the situation.

Have you checked to make sure that a rule has not been created? Could the keyboard shift key be stuck? Can you try a different keyboard?
