I don’t suppose I’m unique in filing sent and received messages together in subject-defined folders, nor in being frustrated by the absence of a To column on display everywhere except the Sent folder. Is there a switch I haven’t discovered? Is there an add-in I could use? Or should I be using another email client that would accept my heritage of emails within their existing OE folder structure?

You can display the ‘To:’ in any folder. Go to ‘View’ > ‘Columns’ and check ‘To’, move it up or down as you see fit, uncheck any of the others you really don’t need, click ‘OK’ and you’re in business.

A really good column to include in addition is the Size one – you may be amazed how large some of the messages you have hanging around (actually, most of the data is Attachments!).
