Once, I turned on Outlook and the list of my messages in the Inbox, sent mail, etc., was compressed. Now, when I open outlook, each entry in the list is thick. In other words, now, each one now is about .5″ whereas before, they were .25″. If what I am saying is not clear, let me know.

Before, you could see twice as many entries in the Window. How can I get that setting back??

    Thank you,

    JMT

      Has the font size changed?

You can choose to “wrap” the Inbox items to two lines if they exceed a certain width. This is useful to make room for the Reading Pane on the right-side of the message list (3 column layout).

With the Inbox displayed, check your view settings here:

View > Arrange By > Current View > Customize Current View…

      Click the Other Settings… button

Toward the bottom, look for “Use multi-line layout in widths smaller than ____ characters” and play with this setting until you get what you want.

Thanks, Jscher2000, that was it: Outlook was wrapping around the text, so when I reduced the width necessary for wrapping, it stopped, thus displaying more items in the list without reducing the font size.

        Thank you.
