In previous versions of Excel, I could put a button on my toolbar with an icon that would run a macro. I could also display text below the icon so I would remember what it was for. So far I haven’t been able to figure out how to display text with my icons. Can I do this and, if so, how.

    Thanks!

You cannot do this in Office 2007. The interface has been fixed pretty tight. The closest you can come to doing this is to add a text description as in the screen shot below. I am in the same boat..

Rudi, if I hover my icons the name of my macro already shows. I just wanted the name to be there all the time. I’m bummed out.

        Thanks for the suggestion.

It is annoying that 2007 has been so (dumbed down – as HansV always says)! I am also bummed out because I am so familiar to the customizations of 2003. Office 2007 is really great in all respects, but the flexibility of the interface needs a lot of work (in my opinion!!).
