    macOS Sequoia appears to be affected by a bug that causes Spotlight to write SHOCKING amounts of data (in the order of 26 TB/night) to the disk, so if you are running it, I urge you to disable Spotlight in the meantime until this is fixed in order to preserve your SSD’s lifespan: sudo mdutil -a -i off # disable Spotlight sudo mdutil -aE # delete existing index

      Commands in an easy to copy format.

      Disable Spotlight: sudo mdutil -a -i off
      Delete index: sudo mdutil -aE
