What is the best approach to have the user use the form Close and Exit buttons on forms to gracefully close each for and exit the system?

I set the Close Button property on a form to NO, and I still get the X (Close Window) in the Control Menu top right of screen. Why is this?

What happens if user closes access if several forms are still open? Is this a problem?

    Thanks, John Graves

      John,

In the properties of the form set the Control Box to NO as well. This will eliminate the ghosted Close button in the Title Bar.

      John,

I think I replied too fast. Are you wanting to remove the close button on the Access Window or a Form Window?

        Hi Tom

        Thanks for responses.

I would like to know how to remove the close button on both the Access and Form Window.

          John,

I can help on the form window not the Access window. With the form in design view go into the properties of the form. You can do this by double clicking on the gray square to the left horizontal ruler on the top of your form. (It may have a black square in it when you first go into form design.)

I have attached a Word file with a picture of a form before property changes and after property changes with a list of the properties to change.

If there is anything else just post again.

Check out this thread: Tip # 19.
It gets rid of the of that pesky “X” on the Windows window.
It is absolutely wonderful. Users have only 2 ways out. My EXIT button or ctrl-alt-del. (and there’s not much one can do about ctrl-alt-del that I know of)

            Hope this link helps:

            Hi Thomas

            Thanks for info.

After making all the property selections in youe example, I’m still getting Restore buttone top right corner of form.

            Any clues?

            John

              John,

The only thing I can think of is your form is set to Sizable and Max Enabled is set. Try setting Border style to Dialog.

      Thank you all

FYI – Another solution I found.

      ====================
I create Command buttons on each form for users to use to exit or
close the forms. To disable the X (close Window) in the Control Menu
top right of screen, goto the following:
