• Disable an account in Outlook Express?

I have multiple accounts in Outlook Express. I would like to disable one of them for a short time and then reenable it. How can this be done?

I know I could Export the account details and then Import but I would like to be able to readily turn the account on or off.

Also I found the following procedure but in OE6 (XP SP3) the settings are not evident:

    Tools | Send/Receive Settings | Define Send/Receive Groups
Make Sure “All Accounts” is selected and click “Edit”
Select the account to be disabled in the left hand column and untick “Include account in this send/receive group”

    Any help appreciated.

Look in the Account properties. There is a checkbox you need to uncheck it to stop you sending and receiving for that email address. The account will not be deleted. It will just be dormant.

(Sorry, don’t have OE installed on this Win7 machine so I can’t tell you the exact tab the check box is on)

My sincere apologies for the tardy response. I see there is a tick box setting on the General tab: Include this account when receiving mail or synchronising. That must be the setting you are referring to in your response. Please accept my thanks.
