Disable Adobe Acrobat New Gen AI Feature

Adobe recently launched a new generative AI feature that it added to Adobe Acrobat. As is far to common these days, it was enabled by default.  https://www.adobe.com/acrobat/generative-ai-pdf.html

For those of us in environments where security and compliance are an issue it would have been helpful if it were optional but it wasn’t.

Is anyone blocking or disabling this feature in AD Group Policy?

You don’t want AI in Acrobat Reader ? You will get it in Edge browser.

I see it under the ‘View’ tab in my AR Continuous Release | 2024.002.20687 | 64-bit.

Well, I just updated to version 24.002.20759 of Reader, and the Generative AI option’s not there in the “Preferences…” menus at all. But it IS on the default screen that comes up if I don’t have a document open in Reader, showing in a square that says “AI Assistant” and that has a button in that square that says “Try it now”.

From what I’ve just seen on Adobe’s site at the link provided by @Evit , this is an add-in that’s currently “on sale” until June 4th for $4.99 per month. So, perhaps Adobe changed their tune between the end of April and now??

The buttons labeled “Download now” or “Buy now” or “Start free trial” are for those specific versions of Acrobat or Reader to download Acrobat or Reader. They’re not for the AI add-in. Inside the grey boxes are the details concerning the add-in’s pricing.

We are using Adobe Acrobat Standard 2020, Version 2020.005.30636, Copyright 1984-2921.

When we go to Preferences there is no Generative AI listed.

So, there is nothing to enable/disable.
