I’m not seeing an official thread on this, so I’m asking it here (if I happened to miss it, feel free to merge this thread into another one).

A friend of mine is purchasing digital currency on CoinBase. I see that AskWoody does accept BitCoins as a method of payment for AskWoody Plus.

Has anyone gotten involved in CoinBase, and if so, is it worth the effort?

Woody was prodded to accept Bitcoin for donations by one particular Lounger. I don’t believe it has been well-used since (if at all?).

We’re now taking Bitcoins (May 22, 2017)

If you search for Coinbase (which I’m guessing you didn’t, before posting), you will see previous service outages mentioned. And the comments on downdetector might be of interest too.

Thanks for the info. I did search for Coinbase before posting here and saw the service outages, which did concern me. I also read the App Store reviews on their iOS app. Those reviews were mixed (some positive, some negative).

Since there can be a lot of spin either way on the Internet, I wanted to filter it through the AskWoody community and get the truth on whether it was worth it.
