Hello today I would like to report something

So you see, since I installed this month update  this error appeared:
    Level:         Error
    Keywords:
    User:          SYSTEM
    Computer:      DESKTOP-
    Description:
MDM Declared Configuration: Function (checkNewInstanceData) operation (Read isNewInstanceData) failed with
    (The parameter is incorrect.)

Normally I would ask to help me fix this, HOWEVER it seems I am not the only one with this issue and people are having this problem with November update, so this is a report of a side effect of this Month’s update.

Just in the Event log? Probably harmless:

Occasional MDM errors since latest update

      Hi Zaphyrus:

Just an FYI that I installed the November 2022 Patch Tuesday updates on my Win 10 Pro v21H2 laptop early today, and when I checked a few hours later my first DeviceManagement-Enterprise-Diagnostics-Provider error (Event ID 2545) had appeared in Event Viewer at Applications and Services Logs | Microsoft | Windows | DeviceManagement-Enterprise-Diagnostics-Provider | Admin.

      Win-10-Pro-v21H2-Event-Viewer-DeviceManagement-Error-Event-ID-2545-After-Nov-2022-PT-Updates-14-Nov-2022

This error isn’t logged in my Reliability Monitor, and I would agree with the comments in Occasional MDM Errors Since Latest Update that this error is likely harmless and can be safely ignored, but I’ll go ahead and file a bug report via the Feedback Hub as suggested in that thread.

does this problem still occur, even with the newly released KB5020030 preview update of Nov. 15?

        • #2498425

          Hi EP:

The error still occurs (the latest was logged today, 15-Nov-2022 @ 10:38:15 AM) but I never install Preview builds so I can’t tell you if KB5020030 will stop the logging of these Event ID 2545 errors.

Just FYI, I posted a Feedback Hub submission yesterday at https://aka.ms/AAipdn3.

I continue to receive the same error notification in my event log. I have run several SFC scans and the errors continue and I continue to ignore them. Another appeared today within minutes after I logged in.

I log in locally and not through M$. Perhaps that’s the problem. Who knows?

            Peace, CAS

P.S.I never install preview updates, either.

              Hi CAS:

I normally sign in to Windows with my Microsoft Account (although I do have a “spare” local Administrator account). I usually boot up my computer around 6 AM, and my last three DeviceManagement-Enterprise-Diagnostics-Provider error (Event ID 2545) errors occurred on 14-Nov-2022 @ 11:19 AM, 15-Nov-2022 @ 10:38 AM and 16-Nov-2022 @ 9:06 AM so my errors don’t appear to be directly linked to the time I boot up and sign in.

              Win-10-Pro-v21H2-Event-Viewer-DeviceManagement-Error-Event-ID-2545-After-Nov-2022-PT-Updates-16-Nov-2022

So far these errors are only logged once a day on my system, but I checked my Task Scheduler and couldn’t find a scheduled task running in the morning that occurs at the same time as these errors.

I’m flummoxed. Yesterday, the error was gone.

M$ must have another meaning. I’m thinking it’s Mysterious  $–t.

No matter. Life goes on. I’m certain there will be more mysteries from M$ in the future for Ask Woody to ponder.

              Peace, CAS

I spoke too soon. It was gone yesterday but back today.

Instead of appearing when I logged on, it appeared two hours later. Oh well.

              Peace, CAS

That link for ‘Feedback Hub’ doesn’t work for me. Instead I get this error:

Apparently I need to install an app – but what app??

      Hi Zaphyrus:

Just an FYI that I updated from Win 10 Pro v21H2 to v22H2 on 06-Dec-2022 and I’m still seeing these DeviceManagement-Enterprise-Diagnostics-Provider errors (Event ID 2545) logged in my Event Viewer.

      Win-10-Pro-v22H2-Event-Viewer-DeviceManagement-Error-Event-ID-2545-After-Nov-2022-PT-Updates-19-Jan-2023

I still haven’t noticed any adverse effect from these errors so I’m continuing to ignore them.

It’s always nice to know that you’re not alone.

I also see that I am not alone. I’ve had this bug for months now.
