On my system (WIN XP Home SP-1) when I open Display Properties, Desktop tab, the Background listbox lists bitmap files in Windows folder, .JPG’s & .BMP’s found in C:WINDOWSWebWallpaper folder, and any image files that can be used as Wallpaper stored in My Pictures and any of its subfolders. If that is what you observing on your system, then it is probably the default behavior for the Display Properties dialog, as I am not in habit of installing any goofy 3rd-party programs that modify the default behavior of Windows, and specifically haven’t installed any program that would affect the default behavior of the Display Properties dialog. Not sure if which folders are used by default by Display Properties for desktop wallpaper is a setting you can modify, via the Registry or otherwise.
HTH
OK, I guessed that it might be the default behaviour. One might think that I before did not have any subfolders to My Pictures, and then did not see the list of even subfolder files, but as far as I can remember I did have subfolders before and did not see this behaviour. But as I said can be remembering wrong.
Thanks for your reply.
