DeskTop Icons Move Mysteriously

Whenever I restart my computer my DeskTop Icons move form the postion where I had last placed them. Any help appreciated.

Try the following:
Right mouse click on the desktop
then under Arrange Icons – untick Auto Arrange

This should stop the errant icon movement.

Hi Coinman:

Somewhere on either http://www.pcworld.com or http://www.zdnet.com is a utility called tidy95. It’s great. My desktop used to redraw & rearrange itself all the time. Look for it & download it. You can record various arrangements of icon settings & it will restore a messy desktop with a click of a button.

Also, fire up TweakUI. Go to the Explorer tab. Check the box that says save window settings. Arrange every folder view the way you want & your desktop. Reboot. Then open TweakUI & uncheck the box.

Told ya! I only wish I had it when I first got Win 95. My hard drive would start whirring, all icons would temporarily disappear, & then everything came back in disarray.
