Has anyone been able to set this?

I have a light blue solid desktop, and used to have solid black text.

Now I have the white-outline-with-drop-down-shadow text, which is almost unreadable.

If you are using Win11 22H2, look in the Settings App\Personalization for Background, Colors, and Themes.

If you are using 23H2, I don’t believe it has been released yet and is still part of the Insider Previews. The settings may be in the same location for Insider releases.

Ooops, my bad: I am on 22H2, of course.

However, my problem still exists, and goes beyond simply Settings App\Personalization —

As I stated, my desktop has changed as noted, even re-loading a saved .deskthemepack file

doesn’t restore the icon text properly.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve attached the theme file.

I looked at that. On mine, it still left the text label white, which would be near invisible.

Right, none of the “standard” remedies have worked. I didn’t describe them, because the list is too lengthy: Namely all of them!

Anyone ???

Try clearing and/or rebuilding your icon cache. There are numerous links on the web on how to do this.

Fixes for everyone in the Beta Channel

Fixed an underlying issue which was causing the setting to turn off using drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop to not work at all recently.
