Sometimes my desktop folders will not open without a restart.  First noticed when I tried to open an iPhone 6S image folder which would not open.  I closed down that window, and then none of my desktop folders would open.  I assumed it was yet another Apple problem (there are many.)  But…  I was moving images rapidly between a folder on a hard drive on to my desktop, and it just happened.  I made some mistake that happened so fast it did not register.  The source folder locked up waiting and waiting for something.  I closed it, and none of my desktop folders would open.  It is fixed with a restart.

Would help if we knew what OS/ version/ x64 or x86 this pertains to?

Windows - commercial by definition and now function...
