We have only one example of a Dell Optiplex GX620 PC, which runs XP Pro, and it keeps going into standby, in spite of the Power Configuration being set as follows:

    Code:
    Field Description Value
    ----------------- -----
    Name Home/Office Desk
    Numerical ID 0
    Turn off monitor (AC) Never
    Turn off monitor (DC) Never
Turn off hard disks (AC) Never
Turn off hard disks (DC) Never
    System standby (AC) Never
    System standby (DC) Never
    System hibernates (AC) Never
    System hibernates (DC) Never
    Processor Throttle (AC) Not Supported
    Processor Throttle (DC) Not Supported

Hibernate is also set off in the tab. There is no screen saver.
The problem started when we changed the local domain name, and so everyone ended up with anew profile…

Has anyone any ideas about what else I can do to make this PC stay on all the time?

    Thanks!

A few old ideas here: Dell Optiplex GX520 hibernation/sleep mode issues[/url]…

Thanks for that! A few ideas might be relevant, but the problem is that after I beat it into submission about a year ago, when a new user started using it, it has been fine until this change of user profile. It needs to be permanently active since on several days a week the user connects to it via a VPN/RDC connection, and gets a bit miffed if the PC has gone to sleep just because she’s gone to make a cup of coffee! I will work through the list and see if any of the ‘solutions’ fit…
