Dell laptop with blank screen

My wife’s 1 year old Dell laptop starts up to a blank screen. Opens to browser (Edge), but she uses chrome. It’s just unresponsive. Message re. page not loading wait or exit. Nothing ever happens.

Running Win 11.

What can we try?

No taskbar or start menu?

Try Ctrl+Shift+Esc or Ctrl+Alt+Del for Task Manager.

No. Nothing.  I tried what in the days of PC-DOS was called “The Three-Fingered Salute”, but nothing.

After a while, I gave up on the thing, turned off the power and let it sit.

Somehow  after four hours. We turned it on  and things re-appeared! Mr. God only knows  . . .    I’m going to burn a small stack of 5 – 1/4 inch floppies to give thanks.

Not exactly resolved, but gone away.
