Deleting Background Graphic on Form (Access 97)

I have a user who created a data entry form and embedded a graphic in the form. He now wants to delete the graphic from the form. He needs to e-mail the database and wants to reduce the size by removing the graphic. I have been unable to find anything discussing how to remove an embedded graphic. Your help is greatly appreciated.

View the form in design view, select the graphic, push the delete key.

Go to your form properties, and delete what is in the Picture property of the form.

If you delete the path from the Picture property and then tab, you should see a message asking if you want to delete the image. If you answer yes, Access should reset the property to (none). This only happens if you’ve saved the form with the graphic in it. Once you set the Picture property to (none) and save the form again, the graphic should be gone. If it isn’t, then the user did something else to apply the graphic and you’ll have to come back with more information.

Thanks for your response. We tried this as well and nothing changed. The user contacted a different source and received a solution that did work. When he used the Compact and Repair Utility it took care of the problem.

Share the solution with us, please. I’ve never seen a form that wouldn’t allow you to remove the background graphic the normal way.

The solution the user told me worked for him was one he found on another list. He used the Compact and Repair Database option on the Database Utilities menu.
