Can you tell me how to remove a Deleted Items Folder that is inside of a newly created Personal Folder. I was doing the Clean Up of Outlook according to WOW for MM, and I created the new personal folders file and I was given a deleted items folder there and would like to get rid of it.

    Thanks,

    Andy

Sorry, you can’t because it’s a core item. Items you delete will go there.

I may have miss spoke the issue. This is a deleted items folder in a Personal Folders file. I know I can not delete the one up with Inbox, Task…, but I thought you could delete the one form a Personal Folders area?

        Thanks

You can’t. I sympathize, when my company set up a WAN fax system, the fax mailbox (admittedly a Server side inbox, not what you are asking about), by default has calendar and task folders, which AFAIC are vestigial and useless.

Is there any way to have this folder automatically empty on exit? (outlook 98). I can do it with the one in the inbox but not in personal folders. It’s probably a feature, rather than a bug, but it would be useful.

        Thanks in advance.

You can’t exactly do what you want. But you can set a schedule and choose to permanently delete or move to another folder. Next best thing?

Right click the deleted items folder, choose properties, AutoArchive tab.
