I would like to delete a file action from the “folders” file type that pertains to a program I no longer use. The action is- “Browse with Paint Shop Pro”(6). The program is still on my machine, but I generally use PSP 7, and I’d like to clean up my context menu.

When I go to Viewl Folder Optionsl File Types- Folder(file type)l Edit, then highlight the action I want to remove, Remove and Edit are grayed out.

    Any wisdom on this?

    Thanks, Dave

Are you up for Registry Editing?

I’m an intermediate user and have done a few simple things in the registry, so if it doesn’t look too tough, I’ll backup and give it a try.

        Thanks, Dave

          Right-O. Assuming Win 9x : back up system.dat and user.dat

Thanks for your help, it got me to the right place

The key structure was a little different:
Folder l Shell l Browse with Paint Shop Pro

I have regedit+ to save me from my mistakes, so I went for it anyway and all seems well
