I have a unique outlook e-mail account that only receives incoming faxes in pdf format from an electronic fax machine. An employee then opens the pdf to discern who the fax transmission is address to. Once he knows the fax recipient, he then press the e-mail button in Adobe Viewer V7 and outlook opens an e-mail with the pdf attached. He then selects the recipient using an employee contacts list to populate the “send to” box. Next, he manually types “Income Fax” into the subject line and then the e-mail is sent.

I would like to establish a default subject line of “Incoming Fax” whenever Outlook opens a new e-mail either within Outlook or by pressing the e-mail button on Adobe Viewer which then triggers an e-mail to be opened. I have searched here but found nothing like this request and have been through the tools menu…my guess is that if this is possible, it must be done with vb script…Thanks for any advice….

Outlook uses a “form” for blank new messages, contacts, etc., that you can try editing. (For example, create a blank message, then use Tools>Forms>Design a Form, select Message) It would be a good idea to have a backup. smile

If the message is generated by an application, it uses the MAPI interface, so some changes to the registry might be required to get the same result.
