I have set my default font to Times New Roman 12. However, whenever I type a footnote to a document, it comes out as Calibri (Body) 10. How do I get the footnotes to recognize my Times New Roman default font? Thanks.

I think you need to modify the Footnote style.

How did you set the “default font”? In Word 2010, you should do this by opening the Style pane, then clicking on “Manage Styles” (third icon at the bottom of the pane). Click on “Set Defaults” tab and choose you font, size, line spacing, etc. here.
