    hi there,
just scanned the enless postings for word and I get a feeling what I want is not an option in V. 2000
but maybe someone knows a solution.

Does anyone have any idea how I can save a table template.

what I mean is I want to create a default (custom made) table desing for my
    tables in my .dot file

I know you can find predefined table styles in the table gallerie but I was
wondering if and how I can create a table STYLE! in my style menu.

Basically I want to give my users an easy way to create tables in a
    predefined style.

    Thanks in advance.

      Hi Diederik:
There are no table styles per say in Word 2000 the way there are in later versions. However, you can always create new styles or modify existing styles. All you have to do is go to Format/Styles/New… & create one from scratch. Another way, perhaps easier, is to apply direct formatting to an existing paragraph. When your finished applying all the formats you want, click in the stylebox on the formatting toolbar, type a name, & press . The new style will appear in your stylebox. You can even assign it to a toolbar button or dropdown or even a right-click context menu.

As far as the table itself, you can apply whatever formats you want (heading row, style in the heading row, borders, etc.) & then save it as an AutoText entry. You can save e.g. a 2 column table as T2, a 3 column table as T3, etc. Just make sure that you save the AutoText entry in the table template that you want, as opposed to normal.dot. If you have addtional questions, please post back.
      Hope this helps,

        Hi Phil,
The autotekst option is a good solution!
