Default calendar setting (XP)

I use Outlook XP on a stand alone machine. When I select calendar, I always have the 31 Day Month view which is exactly what I want. However, when I have this view, I would like for the focus (or cursor) to be on today’s date. To get this, I must randomly click on any date then click on the today button on the menu bar which will place the focus on today as seen by a blue bar in the date box. Is there any way for this to happen automatically such as changing a default setting?
