Default Acount – Outlook 2K Corporate (Outlook 2K SP-3)

I know you must be able to do this, but . . .
How do you set the default account when using Outlook Corp/Wkgrp? I’m using Outlook with ACT 6 and need to use the Corp. mode, but I cannot figure out how to get it to send from a default account as you can in Internet only mode. Any suggestions on this are GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance!

If you’re going to make sure that you always use the same account, then you will have to set it up as a separate logon profile. This is not the most elegant of solutions, but it happens to be the only one that works!

How many networks do you use? Let’s say two, “work” and “travel.” As long as you have the “work” SMTP server (and authentication credentials, if any) listed for ALL accounts when you want to send through the “work” network, and the “travel” SMTP server listed for ALL accounts when you want to send through the “travel” network, you will have no problems. Now, with only one or two accounts and no authentication, you can simply type the other server name when Outlook prompts you (e.g, when you first try to send from outside the office), but if there are multiple accounts or you need to use authentication, then having separate “work” and “travel” profiles will simplify your life. Only trouble is, Outlook stores separate customizations (e.g., Rules, shortcuts for the Outlook Bar) for each profile, so if you use those heavily, there will be double-updating (or file copying/renaming).
