Well-known IT blogger Igor Ljubuncic has posted a piece on his Dedoimedo blog, announcing the intention to move completely away from Windows by the time Windows 10 reaches EOL.

The gist of his reasoning runs as follows:

I am not happy that this is what I must do. But hey. Using Windows has become onerous. Even in Windows 10 Pro, I have to deal with low-IQ nonsense that simply has no place in a professional system I’ve paid for.

The post is the first in a proposed set of articles detailing how to migrate from Windows to Linux and explaining his selection of alternatives to Windows-based software.

Readers who have ever considered making the switch to Linux will undoubtedly find it helpful to monitor Dedoimedo. I’ve been reading Igor’s blog for years and find his posts to be both informative on a consistent basis and crotchety in a humorous kind of way.  🙂

That is a very good article and similar to what I did (and am still doing). I found Steam to be a great setup and almost all my Steam games are good to go, but admittedly are not bleeding edge or real new. My nVidia 1660Ti GPU has been trouble free since first boot.

Actually scanning on Linux has been far easier than on Windows. Plus my HP AIO laser printer works perfectly.

      Thanks for the heads-up.
