AskWoody_MVPApril 8, 2019 at 9:08 am #349764Great to have one centralized source for making Profile backups for Windows.
Not to hijack a Windows thread, but in Linux we’ve been able to do this sort of thing for years. The Home Directory contains all user Profiles, so they are blood simple to copy or archive to another location, then later restore or port to another instance, another user or another Linux device. We even have Aptik and AptikGTK to make the job nearly automatic. (Aptik leverages rsync.) I keep multiple versions of Aptik archives, renamed so as not to get overwritten, on external drives.
So now we have a tool for Windows which allows pretty much the same actions, with one major headache. (OK, maybe two major headaches.) In Windows, the Profiles are not all in the same place. And for some applications, Profiles or parts of the Profiles require special Permissions to copy, restore, export, import or extract. Still, once you find and set up all your application Profiles this program should help keep things organized.
