When run under Access2007, the attached attached database (created in Access2003) bloats at the rate of about 4k every 5 seconds.
If you stop it after say 2 minutes, then restart the db, it will start bloating again after about 2 minutes. This suggests to me there is something going on between Access and the operating system (XP), or that somehow Access thinks it needs more space (or that it might need more space?) and asks the O/S for more.
Bloating also stops if you go into Access Options, then starts again when you get out of it.
I happened to put the db on a thumbdrive and run it from there. The little light on the drive continually blinked. I tried another db and it didn’t bloadt, and the drive hardly blinked. Then another, and it bloated like the first!
I don’t have a clue as to why this would be happening. We are about to bite the bullet and call Microsoft.
