This document is a daily booking sheet. On inserting the date in C1 the rest of the dates are update by adding one, however, I want to have the day of the week coincide with the date and update as well.

Can anyone tell me how to do this?

    Thankyou

In cell A1, enter the formula
      =C1
Then, give this cell the custom number format “dddd” (without the quotes). This will format the cell as day of the week.
(“d” = number 1…31, “dd” = number with leading zero 01…31, “ddd” is abbreviated day of the week Mon…Sun, “dddd” = day of the week Monday…Sunday).
Cell A1 is not text any more, so the name of the day won’t spill into the next column.
You’ll have to widen column A, or merge cells A1 and B1, or put the day of the week in another column altogether.

Next, copy the cell with the day of the week, and paste it in the other cells containing the day of the week. The formula will adapt automatically.

Thankyou for your reply. It worked and I have learnt yet another trick I can use in future!

Here is the finished result for anyone who is interested.

        Kind Regards
