I’ve managed to create a DAP that works. However, I want the Main Group Level to sort alphabetically (rather than customer number as it stands now). How do I accomplish this?

What little help I’ve found in Access and my books say to type ” ASC” (note the space preceding the ASC) in the DefaultSort property field. But that doesn’t work.

    TIA.

Enter the name of the field on which you want to sort in the DefaultSort property.

Ah HA! doh ! If you don’t put in a fieldname, nothing works. Here’s how it should be entered: [fieldname] ASC, Note the space between the fieldname and ASC and the ending comma. This does work.

You don’t really need to add ASC – sorting ascending is the default. If you want to sort descending, add a space and DESC after the field name.

Oh, okay. Thanks. When I was wandering through the help, it said to use ASC or DESC and when I had my eureka moment (by looking at a DAP created with a wizard) I saw that the ASC was there.

I did enter the fieldname properly surrounded by brackets. I’ll edit my original posting so no one else gets tripped up.
