I need to cut and paste a formula to 200 rows.
    MID(G4,1,SearchReverse(G4,”.”)-1)&”(“&D4&E4&”_”&C4&”_”&F4&”_”&A4&”)”&MID(G4,SearchReverse(G4,”.”),4)
Part of the formula references data in row 4 “(“&D4&E4&”_”&C4&”_”&F4&”_”&A4&”)”
I want to keep that constant in each row.
When I use Paste Special>Formula, it modifies the formula for the current row number.
Is there a way to paste so I don’t have to edit formulas in 200 rows. Or is there another way to do it.
    thanks,
    Scott

Select the part of the formula you want to keep constant.
      Press F4, then Enter.
Alternatively, you can insert $ signs before the row numbers you want to keep constant. The $ signifies an absolute (unchanging) reference, as opposed to the default relative (changing) reference.

        Hans,
The $ was what I was looking for.
I was going to do a search but didn’t know what to call what I was looking for.

        Thanks again, bow
        Scott
