Customizing Word 2016 Normal Template

I have upgraded from Word 2010 to 2016 and am trying to replace Normal.dotm with one that includes my customizations. After doing a search for it I can see where Normal.dotm is located, but in trying to navigate to C:UsersMainAppData in Windows Explorer, I don’t see the AppData folder under the Main folder, and the Main folder has a lock icon on it.

AppData is a hidden folder. You need to change you view in File Explorer to display hidden folders.

Do not replace a normal.dotm template created by Word with a normal.dotm that you have created. (One that you’ve modified is OK.)
