It would be very useful to me to have an item on my Contact Form to let me know when I entered a new contact. I have tried adding a user defined field “FirstEntered” but I am unable to get it to show up in any view. I then got the Contact Form in Design Mode added the label and box but Save&Close is still greyed out so I chose to Publish Form as but still cannot get a blank contact up showing the field.
Is there a simple way to acheive this?

After publishing the form, you need to change the default form on the folder properties (r-click on the folder, choose properties). if you did this (or opened the form using the menus) and still can’t see the field, we’ll need more information on how you modified it.

BTW, why not add the date to the beginning of the notes field? You can also use the created date field, as long as you don’t export or import contacts. (r-click on the filed name list and choose field chooser). Every form also has User Field 1 through 4 you could use.

Thanks so much Mary. What I wasn’t doing was attaching the published form to the folder. However as you pointed out the Created Date Field already exists and that suits my purposes admirably.
        Regards
