I have active x disabled and also run zone alarm on my system. There are certain web sites that will not display and I am wondering if it is the disabling of active x or zone alarm or something else causing them not to display.
For example if I attempt to view http://nl.hallmark.be/ecards/nl_airhorn_nl.swf
The only thing that appears is a small box in upper left hand corner of page with a small triangle, a small circle, and a small square in it.

I ususally just don’t worry about it, but I really am curious why this happens.

The .swf extension indicates a Macromedia Flash file. For IE Flash is an ActiveX control. So, you’ll not see this unless you enable ActiveX. You’ll probably run into all sorts of stuff like this around the net.
